Dalton-Cantrell Hall, MECC

Project Summary

This project involved the complete renovation of the existing Dalton-Cantrell Hall located in the center of Mountain Empire Community College’s campus. Quesenberry’s Construction was selected as the general contractor for this project through a hard bid solicitation process. Renovations included a complete gutting of interior spaces and installation of new updated classrooms; laboratories for electronics, welding, and chemical processes; president’s office suite; board room; common spaces; and faculty offices. The project also included a new exterior loading dock and utility areas to aid in the logistics of the facilities intended use. All work was performed while adjacent facilities were fully occupied and utilized, and Quesenberry’s was responsible for developing a staging and construction plan to allow work to be completed with minimal interruptions to students and the college’s daily operations. Quesenberry’s Construction was able to complete this project on time and within the specified budget.
